Mary’s Pink Church

Artist Mary Vollero looked at many spaces for a home/studio/art exhibit, but when she saw a late 1860s church in Unionville, she knew she’d found the right spot. The pink color has a simple explanation. “When it became an antique shop they painted it a dark red, but the paint oxidized and soon changed to the deep pink color it is now,” Vollero said. With its distinctive color, the space also found itself a fitting name: Mary’s Pink Church.

Mary's Pink ChurchMary Vollero’s Pink Church  located on Old 220 and Rattlesnake Pike in Unionville, it is the best place for mary to work.

Mary Practice PianoVollero was excited to find that the former church was large enough for her to work on her art and music projects. In a typical day, she would make a cup of coffee and feed her cats in the morning. She would also spend some time on sketching and playing the piano. The work in the afternoon could be intense, if she wanted to do some painting. In her spare time, surfing the internet or decorating the church could be two good options. Mary Vollero has been an art instructor at Penn State University for some time, but she admitted that she would not teach in the upcoming year. She was helpful and willing to communicate with her students.
